CAER Community Awareness Notification – Unplanned Release

Incident Details: This is a test from Ron. An incident response was activated at TIME a.m./p.m. on DATE at the Suncor Sarina refinery and is safely shutting down a process unit. We are making notifications to key community resources to ensure this response has the appropriate support as our first priority is always for the safety of everyone working at our site and for the surrounding community. During this time, you may notice periods of increased flaring as well as a possible increase in noise levels. (If appropriate: In addition, there may be periods where increased odour levels may be present. These odours should only last for a brief period of time.) As always, we will make every effort to minimize the need for flaring. This activity has been communicated to the Spills Action Centre and CVECO. We are investigating this matter and will provide an update as soon as we have more information. In the meantime, should action be required by the community, instructions will be issued by your municipality via the My Community Notification Network.
